About JNTUK UCEV
The JNTUK University College of Engineering Vizianagaram has been established during September 2007 with five Under Graduate Engineering Courses Viz., B.Tech. In EEE, ECE, CSE, ME, and IT as a constituent college of erstwhile JNTU, Hyderabad. Infrastructure development works Phase I was sanctioned by Govt. to a tune of 28.10 Crores and commenced the construction work in March, 2008 at Dwarapudi, Vizianagaram with an Academic Block, Boys Hostel and Girls Hostel. In the year 2008 (20.08.2008) JNTU Kakinada has been established as a separate University with this campus as constituent college and shifted to own campus at Dwarapudi, Vizianagaram during June,2009.
Mission of the Department
- Imparting quality engineering education to students by enhancing problem solving, programming and soft skills to thrive in their professional lives.
- To establish Industry Institute Interaction through collaborative Projects, Internships, Industrial Visits, Invited Talks etc.
- To facilitate the latest tools and technologies through Workshops, Conferences, Symposiums, Project Exhibitions, Student Conventions, MOOCs, NPTEL courses etc.
- To promote fundamental research in the thrust areas of Information and Communication Technology through funding agencies.

I would like to extend my warmest welcome to the department of Information Technology. Today we find that information technology has become over whelming concept. Our department has remained true to the vision on which it was founded. Over the years we have developed a distinct style and method that bridges the theory – practice divide while remaining grounded in the core. Technology changes rapidly, especially in the field of computing, whereas the science, if it changes at all, does so much more gradually.Our understanding is that persons who are clear and thorough about the fundamentals can adapt to rapid changes in technology relatively easily. Our Department has produced hundreds of professionals and has established a name for itself in the country and abroad.
